Open Tryouts Begin June 1 - All are invited!

Why Tryouts?

We realize that our children are different sizes, maturity, and athletic ability and that these things change over time. The Roadrunners, a not-for-profit organization, works hard to find a place for all children, if possible, at levels of competition where the child can develop, have fun, be given leadership opportunities, and achieve success. Therefore, in each age group there may be as many as three or four different teams, each playing at a different level of competition in our soccer leagues. Over time, players may move across these different levels depending upon their development and effort put into soccer.

Teams that are established for the Fall season are generally retained for the following Spring season. Any exception to this would be based on individual player and team needs.

Registration for Teams - June 17 & 18

Once our tryout results are published, all team registrations will take place at the Lincoln Center in Downers Grove, just east of Main St. on Maple Ave. All registrations will start at 6:30pm and end at 9:00 pm

June 17: U8 - U11

June 18: U12 and above

Families will register their players at that time, make payments to the Club and sign all registration material. Registration forms are available on this Roadrunner website. Every Player must attend with a parent to sign Rosters and Player Passes on these dates.

All new players will be required to bring copies of birth certificates (and, if currently registered with another club, provide copy of current player pass at later date) as proof of age.

All Club Members will also be asked to:

- Completely fill out IYSA Medical Release Form

- Boys (NISL): Completely fill out the NISL Player Application

- Girls (IWSL): Completely fill out the IWSL Registration Form

- Boys and Girls: Digital photo will be taken for use with online registration (new players only)

- Copy Front and Back of Current Insurance Card

Registration will not be complete until all necessary registration forms have been submitted to the Club.

If you miss our tryout dates........

Newly selected and returning Roadrunner players will register for their Fall, 2008 outdoor season shortly after tryout dates are completed.

Once teams are formed, we may still have a few open positions open for the season. If you miss our tryouts and you are interested in trying out for an open position, please email us to arrange a special tryout session.

If you miss Fall tryouts but want to play with us this Spring?
If you are are interested in joining a team for the Spring 2009 outdoor season, we would like to find a way to provide a playing opportunity for you. Contact the Club President for more information about our Spring soccer teams.

Currently registered with another team, but want to play with us?
The Open Tryout rule allows curently registered players to attend tryouts during this period. Once teams are formed, the various leagues that we participate in have procedures in place that permit players who are currently registered with other soccer clubs to transfer to a different team. Each league uses transfer forms available from the Illinois Youth Soccer Association website. For more information about how to tansffer to a Roadrunner team, please contact the Club President.

Our Team Uniform Package

Beginning with the 2008 Fall season, the Roadrunners will adopt a new Adidas uniform set, with the required products listed below. All uniform sets are purchased directly through the Club's approved retailer.

Since Addidas and other manufacturers routinely modify uniform styles, we anticipate that this uniform package will be available through Spring, 2011, at which time the Club will likely be required to select a replacement uniform kit.
